The Bellingham Herald editorial board weighed in on the Commerce Corridor study Tuesday with an editorial proclaiming that ‘residents need to be involved.’ Next week I hear there’ll be an editorial on why migratory birds ‘need to migrate.’ Stay tuned.
I admit I read the editorial. I mean past the headline. The Whole Thing. Did I mention I was obsessed with this issue? It’s that bad.
And I admit that though we may try to make a bit of a sport of it, criticizing the Herald’s opinions is a thankless task. Especially since the time this past winter when they responded to a buy local campaign by local merchants by first embracing the campaign and then on second thought declaring Wal-Mart a local business too. That’s right, you heard me: Wal-Mart. And there’s this shoe salesman in Italy named the Pope. He runs this outlet mall called Vatican City.
But anyway, back to the topic at hand. I borrowed the table method from Wonkette.
Here’s the Herald’s Tuesday, June 22nd editorial “Foothills residents need to be involved in ‘corridor’ plans" with exclusive No Corridor Notes line-by-line commentary:
